Our Mini Handpan is made of stainless steel and has a diameter of 43 cm. Its smaller size makes it easy to play, especially for individuals with a smaller stature. Although the number of tones is limited, the Mini Handpan still delivers the warm, resonant sound our handpans are renowned for.
Stainless Steel Handpan
Our Stainless Steel Handpan is made of high-quality stainless steel. This material provides the handpan with an exceptionally bright sound and long resonance, making it ideal for a meditative and calm playing style. Additionally, the material is highly rust-resistant and requires minimal maintenance.
Ember Steel Handpan
Our Ember Steel Handpan is crafted from a specially treated type of stainless steel. This unique Ember Steel combines an exceptionally warm sound with an extraordinary long resonance (sustain). It is particularly suited for a calm, meditative playing style. Like Stainless Steel, Ember Steel is rust-resistant and low maintenance, but due to its exclusivity and more time-intensive production process, the delivery time may be longer.
It is important to realize that everyone has their own taste and that the only thing we can advise is to listen carefully to the sound videos and to choose the scale and model Handpan that appeals to you the most. You can't make a wrong choice!
When choosing your first handpan, there are several factors to consider. The most popular and versatile scale is D-Minor (D-Kurd 10). This scale offers a wide range of emotions, from melancholic and sad to joyful and euphoric. The notes complement each other well, allowing you to play intuitively and enjoy a harmonious sound without worrying about wrong notes. D-Minor is also perfect for meditative playing and group play, and there is plenty of online learning material to help you get started.
If you don't have a clear preference for the sound right away, we can definitely recommend D-Minor for beginners. However, other scales, such as F-Pygmy, can also be a good fit for beginners. You will naturally get to know and play the scale. The most important thing when choosing your handpan is to listen to the sound that you find most beautiful and that resonates with you the most. The right handpan for you is the one that speaks to you the most.
We craft our handpans exclusively from Stainless Steel and Ember Steel, both high-quality steels that contribute to the distinctive, dreamy sound of our instruments due to their long resonance.

Standard Handpan (53 cm)
This size offers more space for additional notes, allowing for more extensive melodies and sound combinations. It is ideal for players who want to unlock the full potential of a handpan and don’t want to compromise on tone range and versatility. Although slightly less portable, the standard handpan produces a warm, resonant sound that is slightly louder than that of a mini handpan.
Mini Handpan (43 cm)
Lighter and more compact, making it an excellent choice for traveling. The notes are closer together, making it easier to play, especially for people with a smaller build. While the number of notes is limited, the mini handpan still offers the warm, resonant sound our handpans are known for.

You receive a 2 year warranty on the tuning of the instrument. This means that if anything goes wrong with the tuning during normal use within this period, we will fix it free of charge. Our handpans are made with care and craftsmanship, and we don’t often get them back for re-tuning. With normal use, most LIDAH handpans can last 3, 5, or even more than 7 years without needing re-tuning. Our handpans are built to last. LEARNING TO PLAY THE HANDPAN
Playing the handpan is accessible to everyone, regardless of your musical experience. A handpan is tuned in a single scale, so the notes harmonize beautifully, making it easier to play without hitting wrong notes. You don’t need a musical background, unlike instruments like the piano or guitar.
For beginners, it's especially important to get used to the technique of playing, such as using your hands and fingers to produce the right notes. This may take some time, but with practice, you'll get the hang of it quickly.
Most people can play simple melodies within a few days to weeks. As you gain more experience, you can improve your technique and learn more complex rhythms and patterns.
With our handpans, we provide a free full Master The Handpan course, including over 70 lesson videos and lifetime access. This makes it easy for beginners to get started and improve their skills at their own pace.

Yes, we offer extensive lesson material when you purchase a handpan from us. In collaboration with Master The Handpan , we provide an online course with over 70 lesson videos, giving you lifetime access. These videos help you improve your technique step by step, from the basics to more complex melodies.
As for workshops: unfortunately, we do not currently offer workshops, but we hope to do so in the future. We look forward to starting this soon so that we can guide you personally or give you a first introduction to our instruments!

We primarily tune our handpans to 440 Hz, but we also regularly have handpans available in 432 Hz. The difference between these two frequencies is subtle: 440 Hz is the standard tuning in the music world and is often perceived as bright, familiar, and soothing, while 432 Hz is slightly deeper and preferred by some.
If you don't have a specific preference, we recommend choosing a handpan in 440 Hz, as this tuning is the most universal and familiar. You can easily order this through the product page.
